Oakville is the perfect place to raise a family, with countless family and child-focused community activities throughout the year in their many parks and recreation spaces. Children’s Festivals, Camps, and Special events run each year, focusing on diversity, inclusion, accessibility and support. Parents will note that there are a number of great schools in the area, from Pristine Montessori, to St. Mary Catholic, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Elementary, and Captain R. Wilson Public School, and of course, Palermo Public School which is just across the street.
Oakville is also known for it’s many parks and conservation areas. Lion’s Valley Park in particular, has become a destination in itself for it’s lovely greenery, hiking rails, rolling hills and creekside nature. Just south of NUVO is Bronte Creek Provincial Park. This park is a major camping, nature and hiking destination, right in the heart of Oakville. Bronte Creek takes advantage of the naturally occurring ravine system that is found throughout the GTA, and offers family camping, a children’s farm with live animals, tobogganing and cross-country skiing in the winter, and beautiful hikes through the Bronte Creek Ravine. Easy access to transportation makes Oakville a perfect place for Toronto commuters – heading into the city for the day, and getting back home in time for dinner is a reality thanks to the GO Train with stations right nearby, and Oakville provides that perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto.
The neighbourhood is largely residential, with plenty of services and shops nearby including Shoppers Drug Mart, Winners, Homesense, Marshalls, Toys R Us, and many more. Oakville also has malls like Oakville Place, which is only 10 minutes away, with retailers like H&M, The Bay, and Sephora, as well as grocery, and home improvement and decor retailers. NUVO is also very close to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, which is only a 6 minute drive.
Further, NUVO is only ten minutes away from the famous Sheridan College. Sheridan College is one of the largest, most well-known post-secondary institutions in the region, making NUVO a perfect place to live for students of all walks of life. Oakville is the community outside Toronto that has it all! Perfect as a dormitory community for Toronto professionals, or as a community unto itself for those looking to live in the GTA without all the hassle.
NUVO Condos will have a bold design. The two buildings will feature a distinctive grey and white rectangular facade. These modern lines will create a unique look, highlight balconies and create a chic, futuristic aesthetic.
Underground, NUVO will sport 378 parking spaces, leaving plenty of space for visitors as well as residents, and since the condo will be a mixed-use development, this will also include parking spaces for customers of the various retail units in the lower levels of the building. These retail and commercial spaces will allow residents to take care of errands, go shopping, and even grab a bite to eat right from their front door.
With 4.5 acres of land, NUVO will offer a number of outdoor amenities, including a putting green, rooftop lounge and pool, BBQ facilities, community gardens, leisure sitting areas, basketball court, and even walking trails, thanks to the developments proximity to Bronte Creek Provincial Park.
Another important feature of NUVO is that units will feature built-in smart home technology. Other indoor amenities will include a gym with peloton bikes, hosting spaces, and more. For a full list of amenities as soon as they become available, don’t forget to register now with US!
Oakville is an early stop on the many south-bound routes coming from Downtown Toronto. The Queen Elizabeth Way runs directly through Oakville on it’s way to Hamilton and the rest of the Niagara Region. Access to Highway 407 is just a 4 minute drive away, and the 403 is only 6 minutes in the other direction, giving residents multiple options for car commutes throughout the GTA.
Go Transit commuter rails and bus services operate within the city, providing a robust framework for commuters to get into the city, or to any one of the many other communities within the GTA. Two major stations, Bronte and Oakville are hubs for the city, and also connect residents to a local bus service – Oakville Transit, which runs over 20 different routes all year round. Bronte Station is just 7 minutes south by car.
Oakville’s closest neighbour, Mississauga is the home of Lester B. Pearson International Airport, and VIA rail runs trains through the city on it’s Windsor-Quebec corridor, both opening the city up to the entirety of North America, and the world. You can also use the MiWay transit system within Mississauga as an additional transit option within the metropolitan area of Mississauga, making connections to other transit infrastructure from there.
Now is the perfect time to start looking at homes in Oakville. More and more people are flocking to the region as Toronto continues to expand. People are looking for an easily-accessible place to live that’s just outside of the downtown core, yet still a destination unto itself.
In 2016, the census found that Oakville’s population was 193,832 residents, and expected that the community would increase in size, likely to about 250K by 2031. This kind of growth actually surpasses Toronto with over a 6% increase. This means more and more development is inbound for the charming city, from condos, to master-planned communities and it means the return on investment opportunity is huge.
The focus will continue to be on improving sustainability, and increasing density, meaning that projects will be built to last, and will therefore increase property values more quickly and efficiently than some other projects. The current price of pre-construction condos sits within the $400K range, which is relatively affordable, but also is expected to rise as Oakville continues to density.
With so many reasons to live in Oakville, it’s easy to see why the town is in such high demand, and as this population influx continues to play out. And thanks to its close proximity to Oakville institutions like Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Sheridan College, NUVO is expected to be an attractive option for students, families and people of all walks of life.
